As I move into week 4 of being at home, I find myself thinking about social connections and the communities that I’m a part of.
I’m appreciating being part of these communities as we give and receive support, comfort, positivity and love.
The last few weeks I’ve been transitioning into our new ‘normal’ as a family and as such haven’t been active in the blogging world, but I’m excited to throw myself back into this wonderfully supportive community, so I thought I’d finally introduce myself!
I don’t know why I hadn’t done this before-I suppose it’s easier to be a bit invisible but here I am!!
My name is Kate. I live in the UK with my lively but wonderful family. I’m previously trained as a nurse but am currently at home full time. I enjoy art, music, anything nature, making a mess (sorry Nick…), reading and spending time with the people I love.
(Whether or not I find time for any of these is another story!)
After having my daughter I became a full-time stay at home mother and found that and a somewhat stressful birth led me towards a previous interest in meditation.
I was lucky enough to have been introduced to meditation in one form or another by my parents and various school teachers.
So I threw myself into a regular meditation practice and in what felt like the blink of an eye but what was in reality three more children and almost a decade later, I found that meditation had not only become a passion but also a method of survival!!
I’ve become fascinated with the science of meditation, the history of it, it’s practise in different cultures and of course it’s benefits. I naturally wanted to share it’s gifts with others in the hope that it might help someone to find more joy or peace in their life.
So here I am sharing my meditation journey, blogging ideas and information, making meditation tools and cushions and trying to encourage others to give meditation a go.
I’m currently training to be a meditation and mindfulness teacher and am looking forward to seeing how this might add to my knowledge and my posts.
Thank you for having me as part of this community!
